Anyone who runs a BDC has been pitched video email. BombBomb and Covideo are the names that come up, both are mature products, and both have dealership customers. So the fair question when Eagle Eye proposed building Pronto for VIP Automotive Group was: why not just buy one?
This page lays out the answer the group arrived at. It tries to be fair to the incumbents, and the reasons a group might reasonably choose them are listed too. (Pronto’s own site keeps its BombBomb and Covideo comparisons for the vendor’s framing.)
What the three tools have in common
All three let a rep record a short personal video and send a link. All three host the video so the customer does not need an attachment. All three can log activity so a manager can see who is sending. If that were the whole job, it would be a pricing decision.
It is not the whole job, because a multi-rooftop BDC has four constraints a generic video-email product does not have to think about.
The four constraints that decided it
1. Reps turn over; the tool cannot require per-user setup
BDC rooms have turnover. Every tool that is licensed per seat and configured per user turns every hire into a provisioning task and every departure into an unused license. Per-seat pricing also quietly discourages managers from putting the tool in front of part-time or new reps, the people who most need a script and a camera.
Pronto is priced per dealership group. Every rep at every rooftop is covered under one agreement, with no per-seat fees and no per-video charges. A new hire records on day one. Nobody audits seat counts.
2. Ten stores need ten brands, automatically
A group’s video links need to carry the right store name, phone number, address, and calls to action, and a rep who covers two stores needs to switch between them without reconfiguring anything. Per-user platforms generally attach branding to the user or to a single account, which means either per-store accounts (more seats) or a rep manually fixing the signature.
Pronto attaches branding to the dealership the rep selects at record time. The link the customer opens shows that store’s name, phone, address, service and trade buttons, and benefits card. No per-video setup, no per-location configuration. For VIP Automotive Group this was the single biggest reason a purchased product did not fit.
3. The customer will not install anything
Any tool that ends in the customer being asked to download an app, create an account, or “view in browser” after a warning loses a share of viewers at that step. Pronto’s link is a plain branded web page: video, phone number, address, buttons. Nothing to install, nothing to log into, any device.
4. The landing page has to do the selling
This is the part the incumbents underrate. A video player with a “reply” button is not a landing page. Pronto’s page is the store’s mini-site for that customer: the video, a one-tap phone number, the address, and buttons for service, contact, and trade-in, plus (for VIP Automotive Group stores) the full VIP+ program card. A customer who is convinced by the video has a call to action already in front of them. For more on what that does to callbacks, see the Pronto profile.
Where BombBomb or Covideo might be the better fit
In fairness:
- A single store with a small, stable team. Per-seat pricing hurts less at five seats than at fifty, and per-user setup is a one-time task.
- Deep native integrations with a specific CRM. The incumbents have years of integration work with mainstream CRMs and email clients. Pronto keeps things simple (the link pastes into any CRM, and every send logs to a Google Sheet), which is exactly right for many groups and might be too simple for one with a heavily customized CRM workflow.
- Screen recording, video libraries, and marketing-style features. Pronto is deliberately narrow: record, brand, send, log. A group that wants a video marketing suite is making a different purchase.

The bottom line for dealer groups
A BDC that is one store and ten reps should buy whichever tool its CRM integrates with best and move on. A BDC that spans multiple rooftops, has turnover, and cares most about whether customers actually call back will find the constraints above lead where they led VIP Automotive Group. Pronto was built inside a dealer group by Eagle Eye for exactly those constraints, and it now runs in all 10 of the group’s stores.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Pronto a BombBomb alternative for car dealerships?
Yes. Pronto is a video messaging tool built specifically for dealership BDC teams. Unlike per-seat platforms, it is priced per dealership group, records in the browser with no app, auto-brands every link to the selected store, and lands customers on a page with the store’s phone, address, and calls to action.
What is the main difference between Pronto and Covideo?
Both serve dealerships. Pronto is narrower and built around multi-rooftop BDC constraints: no per-seat licensing, no per-user setup, auto-branding per dealership at record time, and a customer landing page that includes the store’s contact details and benefits rather than a video player alone.
Does Pronto integrate with a dealership CRM?
The Pronto link pastes into any CRM, email, or text, and every send is automatically logged to the team’s Google Sheet with rep, customer, store, timestamp, and link. Groups needing deep native CRM integrations may find per-seat platforms have more connectors.
Why is per-seat pricing a problem for a BDC?
Turnover. Every hire becomes a provisioning task and every departure an unused license, and managers hesitate to put paid seats in front of part-time or new reps. Per-group pricing means every rep at every store is covered and can record on day one.
Which dealerships use Pronto?
All 10 VIP Automotive Group dealerships across Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and Northern New Jersey run Pronto. It was built by Eagle Eye for those stores before being offered to other dealer groups.
