The 2026 Ford Bronco Heritage Edition is the retro-styled trim with a white grille, white 17-inch wheels, an Oxford White hard top and Navy Pier plaid cloth seats, and for 2026 it can finally be ordered with the 10-speed automatic behind the 2.3L EcoBoost. It comes with the Sasquatch Package standard, so it is as capable as it is nostalgic. This guide covers what is included, what changed, and how it fits Nassau County driving.

Bottom Line: Heritage Edition is the most distinctive-looking mainstream Bronco, built on Big Bend with Sasquatch and the Mid Package included, and 2026 removes its biggest drawback by adding an automatic option with the four-cylinder.

  • Standard Sasquatch: 35-inch tires, locking front and rear axles, high-clearance suspension
  • New for 2026: 10-speed automatic with the 2.3L, plus Marsh Gray and Oxford White paint
  • 4-Door only; choose the 2.3L I-4 or the 2.7L V6

What Makes the Heritage Edition Different

Heritage Edition starts from Big Bend equipment and layers on a period-correct look: a white-painted grille with red FORD lettering, 17-inch unique white wheels, unique bolt-on fenders, powder-coated steel bumpers, front steel bash plates, powder-coated side steps and LED fog lamps. The hard top is painted Oxford White regardless of body color.

Inside, the plaid seats are the signature. Navy Pier plaid cloth front seats are heated, and the cabin gets Heritage-branded floor liners and a console badge. Auxiliary switches with pre-run wiring sit in the overhead console, ready for lights or a winch. Carpet flooring is standard rather than the rubberized washout floor found on Badlands.

The Mid Package is included, which brings intelligent access, dual-zone automatic climate, connected navigation, a Pro Power Onboard 400-watt outlet, rear parking sensors, remote start with the automatic, BLIS with cross-traffic alert and lane keeping. For how Mid compares to the step-up Lux Package, see our Mid vs Lux Package guide.

Sasquatch Is Standard, Which Changes the Math

Unlike Big Bend or Outer Banks, Heritage Edition includes the Sasquatch Package: 35-inch LT315/70R17 rugged-terrain tires, a 4.7 final drive with electronic-locking front and rear axles, high-clearance suspension and fender flares, and position-sensitive Bilstein shocks. Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand engagement is also standard.

In practice that means a Heritage Edition will handle soft sand at Robert Moses or a snowy Wantagh side street the same way a Badlands with Sasquatch does. The trade-off is the same too: 35-inch tires add some road noise on the Southern State Parkway and cost more to replace. Our Sasquatch Package explainer walks through those trade-offs.

Christopher Bahamonde
"The Heritage Edition was always the Bronco that stopped people in the showroom, but plenty of Levittown families passed because the four-cylinder was manual-only. Adding the automatic for 2026 makes it a real daily-driver option, not just a weekend toy."

Heritage Edition vs. Big Bend with Sasquatch

Because Heritage is essentially Big Bend plus Sasquatch, the Mid Package and the retro styling, the honest comparison is against a Big Bend configured the same way. On Big Bend, Sasquatch requires the Black Diamond Package, which brings steel bumpers, bash plates and rock rails. Heritage gets steel bumpers and front bash plates but not rock rails or the rubberized floor.

Choose Heritage if the white grille, white wheels and plaid interior are the point, and you want a spec that will still look special in five years. Choose Big Bend with Black Diamond and Sasquatch if you want a more utilitarian, washout-floor Bronco for muddy gear and dogs. Either way, Nassau County resale for well-optioned Broncos has been strong. Safety equipment is the same across trims, and federal test results are published at the NHTSA vehicle ratings site.
